New Item: Organic Seedless Raspberry Jam!

I have a new item in my Etsy ShopOrganic Seedless Raspberry Jam!

Delicious, amazing and fantastic!  Everything that you would expect from Raspberry Jam; plus, no seeds!  Woot!  Woot!

Whitney and I headed up to Auburn on one summer morning, and picked these from a U-Pick Farm ourselves! We had lots of fun picking the berries, and there were so many on the bushes that we picked over 30 lbs. in less than an hour!  Before it even got SUPER hot (it turned into a 100°+ day).

Grown in the rolling foothills of true California Gold County in the small town of Auburn. These organic raspberry bushes have never seen a drop of pesticides or fumigants. Grown at an organic U-Pick Farm ran by an awesome Husband – Wife Team that has been in operation since the 1980s, each raspberry was selected by yours truly!

Weekend Update

This weekend was the perfect rainy season weekend, not to mention that it was three days long!  Thanks be to you, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  I came down with a pretty bad head cold early last week and I trudged through work (currently working on a huge Recruitment initiative) and on Friday I started to really feel better.  I love it when you were sick and you get better right before the weekend starts!

So on Saturday, Whitney and I went to our friend’s wedding in Oakland.  It was a Greek wedding, held at the Greek Orthodox Church (next to the Mormon Temple) and it was a beautiful church with a beautiful wedding.  I had never been to a Greek Wedding before, but even though the actual ceremony was long, it felt like the Church actually takes the time to really bless a marriage.  I loved the singing Priest (? I don’t know what they call them) he had a great voice and at the end of the ceremony he took the time to explain what he did and the cultural and spiritual connotations (Dancing around the table, The Water Bells, Crowns, etc.).  Then it was time to party!  Had a great time watching Greek people dance their “wedding dance” but they keep that crap up for like 30+ minutes!  Here is a good Youtube video that shows the basic moves.  A great time, open bar, decent food and a crappy DJ- what more could you ask for from a wedding!  Congratulations to George and Jessica!

Have you noticed?  It’s raining.  Like raining, raining.  And it won’t stop.  This is day 4 of rain.  When it rains I don’t feel like doing crap except cooking.  Which I have been up to lately, but that will have to wait for its own post.

Christmas Photo 2009

Our Christmas Photo for family members who asked.  If you want one just ask…   =)

Not the best background…  But we didn’t have anyone to take the photo that night, so we did the best we could.  We took close to 50 pictures and this was the one that came out the best.  Now if only dogs had opposable thumbs…

Christmas Lights

Whitney and I put up our Christmas lights over the Thanksgiving break.  First time that we have had Christmas lights and they look awesome!  But I must admit, I would love to add additional lights, but it is sort of cost prohibitive!

‘Tis the season! Woo Hoo!

All done!

Go team Crespo/Ronan!

Halloween 2009

Even the Bay Bridge being closed couldn’t deter us!  Dammit we were going to The City for a night of debauchery!  Started the evening in Berkeley at Kristen & Brian’s house, we all got ready and then headed for the naughty Broadway District to Horizon Ultra Lounge and Apartment 24.  When the two clubs didn’t suffice, we made the taxi ride to the other side of the city, to the middle of Castro.  Even though they still are not having the block party (9 people were shot in 2006) it was still jam-packed with some of the most imaginative, intriguing costume go-ers I have seen.  Being there again, made me wish people knew how to act right; because many people will probably never experience the “true” Castro Halloween circa early 2000’s.  After shuffling through the sidewalks single-file for a couple hours and realizing that we weren’t going to be able to boogie-woogie at Badlands, we made our way back to Broadway and danced until it was time to catch BART.

BART did an amazingly SHITTY job managing the hordes of people who were trying to leave San Francisco.  A BART train finally came 45 minutes after it was supposed to be there, only for us to be jammed in like sardines a la this video.  It was hundreds of people shoving to try to get in and not wait another hour for the next train.  It’s okay though, despite the screw up, I still love you BART.  So finally we got home safe and sound with all fingers and toes.  A wonderful night, with great peeps, lots of fun and some inappropriate, but harmless groping!  😉

Thanks San Francisco- you make me miss home even more…

Putah Creek Wildlife Area

Whitney and I woke up early on Sunday monday and took an hour drive, via the back roads of Davis and Winters to check out this hiking area just south of Lake Berryessa.  It was a beautiful, cool day for a hike and we got to the top of the summit in about 45 minutes.  It was a tough hike, basically straight up for 1000+ feet on deliriously steep deer trails with no level ground to catch your breath.  We didn’t seem to find an actual human trail, we checked out three different trailheads, but didn’t find an actual human trail, so we just decided to get to climbing.  It was exhilarating and relaxing at the same time.  Good times.

New camera

I am one lucky boy! Whitney bought me a new camera for our anniversary!  WOOT WOOT!  I decided on a Canon SX120 IS because I wanted a step above a typical “Point & Shoot” but can’t afford a Digital SLR.  It takes great pictures and Whitney and Nate are already fed up with me being paparazzi and popping out of my hiding spots to take “candid” photos of them.  Check out the camera here.
