Putah Creek Wildlife Area

Whitney and I woke up early on Sunday monday and took an hour drive, via the back roads of Davis and Winters to check out this hiking area just south of Lake Berryessa.  It was a beautiful, cool day for a hike and we got to the top of the summit in about 45 minutes.  It was a tough hike, basically straight up for 1000+ feet on deliriously steep deer trails with no level ground to catch your breath.  We didn’t seem to find an actual human trail, we checked out three different trailheads, but didn’t find an actual human trail, so we just decided to get to climbing.  It was exhilarating and relaxing at the same time.  Good times.
